When asked if they have a favorable or unfavorable

When asked if they have a favorable or unfavorable view of Christian nationalism, around two in ten Americans (21%) say they have a favorable view of Christian nationalism, compared with over four in ten (43%) who hold an unfavorable view. Nearly one-third of Americans (32%) say they have not heard of the term.

Around four in ten white evangelical Protestants (41%) and Latter-day Saints (36%) say they view Christian nationalism favorably, compared with smaller shares of Hispanic Protestants (31%), white Catholics (27%), Black Protestants (25%), white mainline/non-evangelical Protestants (25%), Hispanic Catholics (16%), Jewish Americans (11%), and religiously unaffiliated Americans (8%). More than half of Americans who qualify as Christian nationalism Adherents (53%) view Christian nationalism favorably.

This data comes from PRRI’s survey of more than 5,000 Americans on their views 100 days into the Trump administration. Read more at PRRI.org.
