The PRRI Public Fellows Program is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 cohort!
The PRRI Public Fellows program seeks a diverse cohort of 12 scholars working across four key areas of PRRI’s research:
- Racial justice and white supremacy
- Immigration and migration studies
- LGBTQ rights
- Reproductive health and rights
Created in 2017, the PRRI Public Fellows program is an 11-month, non-residential fellowship that helps researchers develop and hone their ability to bring academic research to a broader public audience. This program is ideal for mid-career scholars who want to engage broader audiences by shaping their work for public consumption and to generate impactful commentary and analysis at the intersection of religion, culture, and politics.
All fellows receive a $5,000 stipend and access to course release funds up to $10,000 for the spring 2026 semester as well as $12,500 in microgrant funding to design and implement collaborative research. Public Fellows also participate in an expenses-paid, in-person convening hosted by PRRI in Washington, D.C.
