Nationwide protests have erupted after an Immigrat

Nationwide protests have erupted after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent fatally shot Renee Nicole Good, 37, a U.S. citizen and mother, in Minneapolis on Wednesday. In a separate incident, a Customs and Border Protection Agent shot and injured a husband and wife in Portland, Ore., on Thursday.

The 2025 PRRI American Values Survey finds that a majority of Americans (56%) have little or no confidence in ICE, compared with 42% of Americans who say they have some or a great deal of confidence in ICE.

Additionally, nearly six in ten Americans (58%) agree that “ICE officers should not be allowed to conceal their identity with masks or use unmarked vehicles when arresting people,” including most Democrats (84%) and independents (64%). Just three in ten Republicans (31%) agree.
