On Thursday, October 25, 2012, Dr. Robert P. Jones will speak at a monthly faculty and community seminar sponsored by the newly launched Global Politics and Religion Initiative (GPRI) to promote the study of religion and international affairs at the Johns Hopkins University’s Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). During the seminar, Dr. Jones will provide insight on the role of religion in the 2012 presidential election.
The seminar is comprised of approximately 25 participants drawn from universities, think tanks, government agencies, and the media. Previous speakers include Nathan Brown (George Washington University) who addressed the role of religion in the Egyptian transition, E.J. Dionne (Brookings Institution and The Washington Post) who addressed the role of religion in the American elections, and Mark Juergensmeyer (UCSB) who spoke on religion and secularism.
