Rev. Dr. Nathan C. Walker is president of 1791 Delegates and an award-winning instructor of First Amendment and human rights law at Rutgers University, where he teaches AI Ethics & Law as an Honors College faculty fellow. He currently serves as an Ethics in AI Short-term Visiting Academic at the Institute for Ethics in AI at the University of Oxford and previously served as a resident research fellow in law and religion at Harvard University. He has published five books on law, education, and religion. He presented his research at a U.S. Senate staff briefing, the United Nations Human Rights Council, and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dr. Walker earned his doctorate in First Amendment law from Columbia University, where he received two master’s degrees in higher education administration, focusing on finance and education technology. Dr. Walker has designed two dozen websites and three mobile apps, including the social learning communities at ReligionAndPublicLife.org, EducationLaw.org, and AbolitionistSanctuary.org.

As an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister, Reverend Nate holds a Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary. Nate was born in Munich, Germany, and raised in the Lake Tahoe area in Northern Nevada. He enjoys learning American Sign Language and currently lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with his husband, Vikram Paralkar.
